About the role
As a Machine Learning Engineer you will partner and collaborate in a cross-functional team of data scientists, data engineers and system engineers. As a team member you use Data Science and Data Architecture principles to better build the next generation energy solutions.

Your responsibility is to develop and productionize end-to-end high-performing Data Science solutions that goes beyond building Data pipelines (Extract, Transform and Load data), working with unstructured and structured data in Batch and stream mode. You will get the opportunity to build ML pipelines aligned to business needs. In your work, you will apply your deep end-to-end understanding of cloud and on premise technologies including ML algorithms to ensure fast deployment and reliable operations. Together with the team you will implement best practices to improve the existing ML infrastructure with a focus on scalability and stability. In addition, you will work closely with business units and domain experts and train other developers.

In addition to the above, you will also work with exciting tasks that can be:
* Develop and productionize robust, end-to-end high-performing ML and Deep Learning solutions.
* Conceptualize and implement efficient and scalable deployment processes and monitoring workflows.
* Keep up to date with new technologies, tools and methods and implement if applicable.
* Advocate best practice within MLOps and software development and inspire the team to develop within these areas.
* Proactively support and inspire the business to identify areas where we can create value by using data analysis and AI.
* Identify analysis methods and data required to then develop algorithms and operationalize these so that they continuously create value for the business.


In the role, you will belong to an Analytics & Data Governance Team consisting of 9 people. The team's mission is to support the business by getting more value out of the company's data. To achieve this, we develop transformative, intelligent solutions with state-of-the-art data analytics and AI approaches and we establish a proactive approach with Data Governance. The team helps to improve the customer experience, increase the company's internal efficiency and contributes directly to the energy transition with the help of data and AI.

About you that we want to hire
we believe that you may have a university degree in data science, statistics, computer science, engineering, natural science, mathematics or similar.
We also believe that you have a few years of experience in professional experience in a data science, ML engineering or software engineering role and preferably professional experience in ML model training (data preprocessing, feature engineering, model selection, hyperparameter tuning) in Python (and / or in R).
If you also have experience of working with state-of-the-art cloud technologies and various Azure services, this is an advantage.

We also believe that you have a good understanding of virtualization technologies (Linux Containers and / or Docker) as well as good knowledge of understanding data science algorithms.

You speak and write fluent English and have no problem working in an international environment.
