Data & Analytics Core – let’s introduce ourselves 
The mission for Data & Analytics Core is to transform the data ecosystem to empower our colleagues with trusted data, supporting the Volvo Data Vision of Powering both innovation and every decision with trusted data. 

This position is based in the central Data Science team where our goal is to accelerate and support the data maturity journey of business area teams. We aim to drive value creation through the incubation of AI/ML products and promote best practices, collaboration, and reusability within data science. 

What you’ll do
As a Machine Learning Engineer in the central Data Science team, you will be instrumental in developing and transforming our machine learning models into production-level applications. You'll be responsible for creating, deploying, and maintaining machine learning solutions.
In this creative role, you will be implementing machine learning models and algorithms that create business impact. Your collaborative spirit will shine as you work closely with data scientists and product managers, seamlessly translating prototypes into products, services, and features while establishing guidelines for their successful deployment. Your expertise will extend to maintaining and optimizing the performance of existing ML models and applications, ensuring their continued relevance and efficiency.
As self-development is one of our core competencies, you are also keeping abreast of the latest research and technological innovations.

What you’ll bring 
We believe that the ideal candidate will have a good understanding of ML algorithms and model development. 
In this role, we are looking for an individual with 2 years of experience as a Software and Machine Learning Engineer.
You have experience of deploying and operating ML models in production, particularly on platforms such as Kubeflow.
You should be a good trouble-shooter, capable of identifying and resolving issues during operation while simultaneously proposing enhancements to existing processes.
Good communication and presentation skills in English is also a key factor in this position since you will work with different stakeholders, both on the business as well as technical side cross in our organisation.

You also have
Knowledge in software engineering practices and fluent in Python and SQL.
Broad understanding of machine-learning techniques and statistical tools.
Good knowledge of MLOps best practices.

Location is based in Gothenburg.
