Sandvik Materials Technology (SMT) is a world-leading manufacturer of high-value-added products in advanced stainless steel grades and special alloys, as well as metallic and ceramic materials for the most demanding application areas. The peak competency is based on an integrated production platform and world-leading metallurgy and R&D departments.

Growth & Technology is a sector of the Production Unit Oil & Gas Sandviken (PU OGS), which is part of the Product Area Tube. PU OGS is a recently created unit with a focus on growth within the oil & gas area, and also manufactures tubing for the chemical, environmental and energy sectors. The Production Service entity, formerly Toolshop, is a part of Growth & Technology. In addition to manufacturing tools for cold processing of tubes, it has recently had its workforce strengthened, in order to ensure process and product development and enhance project management within PU OGS. The main goal of Production Service is to be the Competence Centre for Business Unit Oil & Gas, and the next step is to recruit a Machining Engineer.

Key performance areas
As Machining Engineer at Production Service you promptly deliver tool design and manufacturing processes for new orders or new product qualifications. You independently solve all simple and advanced problems at CNC turning and milling centers, while also managing machining of tools, with minimal costs and the shortest lead times.

Your main responsibilities include:
- Process development for machining of tools for tube cold processing
- Development of CAD and CAM methods for tools for tube cold processing
- Planning and supervising manufacturing in CNC-machines
- Supervising and training of CNC operators
- Managing investments
- Process development for tube cold rolling

Your profile
We are looking for someone with a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or in Materials Sciences, preferably with some experience working with CAD and/or CAM methods. Additionally, you have experience working with cutting tools development. You are familiar with CAD-CAM engineering and cutting technology, including modeling and simulation.
