Volvo Group D&IT governs the overall Process and IT efficiency within the Group. The function drives the usage of common processes, common IT systems and IT infrastructures.


Infrastructure & Onsite Services (IOS)
Infrastructure & Onsite Services is in charge of all Volvo Group D&IT infrastructure services. As the majority of these services are delivered by a partner, the mission is focused at governing and controlling this partner, as well as managing the remaining IT infrastructure delivery teams in Volvo.


Application Infrastructure
Application Infrastructure is part of the Application Services department within IOS. The mission of Application Infrastructure is to Develop and Govern the Infrastructure Services for applications while ensuring their delivery and usage. By that, Application Infrastructure contributes to Volvo Group competitiveness by delivering standardized and fit for purpose infrastructure services, maintaining a balance between time to market, cost and quality.

The Application Infrastructure organization is divided into three functions/teams:
Application Hosting – application hosting platforms and services for Mainframe, IBMi, VMS, .NET and Java, cloud application hosting services
Integration & BI - platforms and infrastructure services for integration, EDI (on premise & cloud) and Business Intelligence (on premise)
Shared Cloud Infrastructure – the common cloud layer in order to be able to offer and expose services from Group D&IT appointed public cloud providers



We are now looking for a Manager, Application Hosting - Application Infrastructure
In this role you will be reporting to the Head of Application Infrastructure within Volvo Group D&IT/ Infrastructure & Onsite Services/Application Services.


You have responsibility for managing a global team, driving its performance, financial results and long-term development. You have a key role in managing and optimizing the service developments and deliveries to Volvo Group in your scope. You operate in a global context, having a number of interfaces with Volvo stakeholders, to the main infrastructure partner and to other strategic and tactical partners.


Key responsibilities
Service roadmaps, development, architecture and innovation
Infrastructure services roadmap/development/enhancement/innovation accountability based on business requirements and priority from other D&IT functions and Cloud Foundational Product function
Accountable for infra service development projects including budgets and steering of project activities (for cloud hosting services, Cloud Foundational Product owns the development budget)
Accountable for the infrastructure services portfolio architecture and security
Contribute to Foundational Product (within Technology) functions strategy and plans
Participate in establishing the new development/enhancement cloud application hosting budget owned by Foundational Products
Service delivery management
Accountable for the delivery of the full portfolio of infrastructure services
Ensure that all services are delivered according to contracted supplier (s) obligations for cost, volumes and quality
Accountable for the infrastructure portfolio audits and legal/regulatory compliancy
Accountable for service level management
Accountable for continuous improvement of the services and of the operational process interactions between Volvo and partner companies
Outsourcing partnership management: financial, contractual and commercial management
Define and follow-up service delivery budgets and runtime cost budgets for whole outsourcing scope of own area
Conduct negotiations regarding contractual and commercial changes within own area regarding changes of existing services and introduction of new services
Formal validation of supplier invoices and in case of discrepancies ensure corrections
Manage suppliers relationships related to services development and deliveries both with main outsourcing partner and other partners
People management and stakeholder management
Manage direct reports who in their turn functionally manage large supplier teams and project teams
Manage consultants supporting the own line organization and projects within own portfolio
Manage and continuously develop and improve, the relationships with global and multi-cultural Volvo and partner teams - spanning commercial, strategic, tactical and operational aspects
Within Volvo, interact with Group D&IT management teams regarding requirements, usage, cost and improvements of outsourced services and new service development
Software asset management
within own portfolio of services, in collaboration with Volvo D&IT software asset managers, optimize software usage and ensure compliance
Contribute to the optimization of the overall financial model of software under Volvo contracts



Required competencies and experience
University/Master’s Degree or equivalent in relevant area
Service oriented mindset and business mindset
Experience of governance: directing, planning and monitoring of IS/IT services
Proven experience in leading, developing and coaching people
Experience from leadership in a global context
Strong experience with Application Hosting infrastructure services
Experience with steering of projects and programs
Knowledge and experience of ITIL
Excellent communication & presentation skills
Complete proficiency in English
