Intelligent Transport Systems is a section of five groups at Scania Research & Development. We are contributing to Autonomous Transport Solutions by providing cloud-based systems (AWS) for automated, optimized, and safe vehicle control and monitoring.

We are now looking for a first-line manager who wants to help us further develop our section and its management team, build great development teams, and contribute to sustainable transport solutions for one of the section's groups. Assignment


You will be responsible for a group consisting of our cross-functional technical leader roles Product Manager (PM), Release Train Engineer (RTE), Safety lead, Security lead and a Quality Assurance & simulation team. The mission of the group is to secure a system holistic perspective across the development organization and take lead on quality assurance on the system level for our system Intelligent Control Environment. Our way of working is inspired by the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

You will have a mix of tasks in terms of product guidance, technology development, competence development, building efficient and healthy agile teams, coaching employees, and improving work and recruitment. You also support your teams in their collaboration with other teams and stakeholders inside and outside of Scania. You will work closely with the other managers within Intelligent Transport Systems and contribute to the management teamwork such as strategic planning and organisational development. The management team is accountable for the section’s deliveries.

Your profile 
You have strong management and leadership skills. You have a lot of enthusiasm as well as the ability to see people’s capabilities and to trust others. To succeed in this position, you need to be strong in building teams, be communicative, show grit and be energized by challenges. You have an interest in, and preferably also some experience of cloud-based system development as well as cyber security, functional safety, and quality assurance on the system level.

We are looking for a team player with a can-do mentality combined with an analytical mindset and structured way of working. To fit the expectations of the role we think you are

• experienced in developing teams and systems in complex environments
• consciously looking for improvements and having a sense-respond-ship mindset
• able to lead change while your organization feel safe and stays focused
• experienced and interested in agile IT system development

You have a graduate degree in Computer Science, electrical engineering or equivalent. You have been working as a first-line manager for a few years and want to challenge yourself in a new role leading a group of senior technical leaders. Good command of English is required. Swedish language skills are an advantage.
