Manager CAE Body & Chassis NVH

The section Body & Chassis NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) is part of Volvo Cars department Noise & Vibration Centre. The department is one northern Europe's most prominent NVH groups and it supports Volvo's car programs with analyses and verification work that enables customer target fulfillment within the attribute area of noise and vibrations. Our responsibilities are target setting, method development, simulations, testing, concept evaluation and consultation, attribute leadership and advanced engineering work. The specific tasks of the section Body & Chassis NVH are related to issues such as wind noise, road noise, operational sound quality, body acoustics, vehicle isolation/absorption packages, interactive sound quality and audio performance. It is responsible to support the whole development process from early pre-program phases until product launch quality.
We are now looking for a Manager Body & Chassis NVH to lead and develop the Body & Chassis NVH team, including the employees located at Volvo Car Group sites abroad, to enable maximum staff utilisation, securing prerequisites and follow up including reporting results.
Main responsibilities
* Leading and developing the Body & Chassis NVH team, including employees located at Volvo Car Group sites abroad
* Setting and following up priorities including reporting results.
* Recruitment of new team members and securing competence development for all team members
* Mentoring of team members
* Responsible for the section's attribute and competence strategy
* Plan and manage activities within the line organisation such as operational and method development
* Ensuring implementation of methods and processes to increase quality and efficiency within Noise & Vibration Centre and ensure best practice and standardisation
* Ensure proper project staffing in vehicle, unit and advanced engineering projects including consultant on-site and bought capacity
* Recognize and reward good performance of employees
* Leading and follow up of the development work in all phases, mentoring and coaching the team to deliver in time to the right cost and quality
* Being an active member of the Noise & Vibration Centre Management team
Required qualifications
* Master of Science or higher education in Mechanical/Vehicle Engineering or Engineering Physics or similar
* Minimum seven years professional experience
* Knowledge in structural dynamics and engineering acoustics and solid experience in vehicle development
* Demonstrated leadership experience
* Fluent in English, written and spoken

* Excellent ability to build contacts, both internally and externally Volvo Cars and motivate / inspire
* Strong in communication, mentoring and interpersonal skills
* Highly driven and results-focused
* Proven ability to drive change
* Business acumen
