Company The department Control Systems is organized within the department of Product Development, Gothenburg.Within the Control Systems department we work with development and design of electronic control systems for Volvo's heavy and medium duty diesel engines and gearboxes.Our specific responsibility is to develop driveline software functionality and related components for driveline management.This includes development of electronic hardware, software, practical application and optimisation for all engines and automatic gearboxes.It is a rapidly growing area within product development and the section is today about 150 people.Job Description The work is performed in an international environment together with our colleagues in France, Japan, Brazil and the US.Many activities are performed across the different sites.As a manager for this team you will focus a lot on cooperation as well as the networking with the different customers within the global Volvo community.Networking skills will therefore be considered as a clear qualifier.The 91537 group is responsible for development of vehicle related functions in the heavy duty segment.With this responsibility you find the development of software and datasets with connection to all vehicle related qualifications, as for example cruise control, engine brake and the interface between engine control and external control units.We focus driveability, comfort and fuel economy.As manager for the team you will be responsible for: .Expected Quality, Delivery, Cost and Features in delivered products from the group .Securing competence .Development of the competence of your team and recruitment of team members .Process and methods development for SW functions and dataset optimisation .Defining goals for your team and to assure that goals are fulfilled.You will also be a member of the Control Systems management team for the site and cooperate with engine projects and line functions.Qualifications .Strong drive and energy level with ability to create a high performing working culture .A leader with courage and integrity who can drive and implement changes when needed .Team oriented and with proven interest in People development .Can do attitude .Experience from product development, preferably within SW development .Result oriented, looking for improvement in our business processes .Ability to create commitment and give direction as well as set and follow up clear objectives .Communicative and with good influencing skills .Education at M.Sc level or similar .Fluent in English, both written and spoken.For further information contact: For this recruitment, Volvo Powertrain is cooperating with Elan.Mark your application with sofsta/confmgmt.
