The ambition of Packaging Materials division is to be a global leader in circular economy with our high-quality renewable packaging materials based on both virgin and recycled fibre. Addressing the needs of today’s eco-conscious consumers, we help customers and brand owners to find the best material for their packaging and to replace fossil-based materials with low carbon footprint, renewable and recyclable alternatives. A wide selection of barrier coatings enables the design and optimisation of packaging for various demanding consumer and industrial packaging end uses.
We are now looking for a Manager – Converting Technology, IRD.
Tasks
The purpose of this position is to lead the IRD unit, Converting Technology, including allocation of the resources and competencies to handle projects efficiently within the unit, and as part of IRD staffing process. Develope the methods, tools and procedures and align organizational focus and activities with other IRD Units.
Your main tasks will be to:
· Develop, plan and implement workflow efficient procedures and handling of human resource tasks.
· Support the creation of R&D contracts with strategic R&D partners and customers.
· External R&D mapping in the Research Area, take part in steering groups in relevant internal and external forums.
· Actively contribute to the overall work in IRD Leadership Team also in fields and topics outside own IRD Unit, and actively participate of IRD strategy work.
· Responsible for Converting Technology cost center follow-up and budget.
· Work safety within the IRD unit.
· Maintain contact and share relevant information with other resource providers, internal stakeholders and customers.
· Identify and fill gaps within IRD unit.
· Monitor technology and competence development.
· Report inventions according to Packaging Materials IRD guidelines.
· Develop ideas for improvement of existing, and development of new, packaging material products and related production processes in line with the Divisional IRD Agenda and Strategy.
Requirements
To thrive in this role, you have a MSc degree in a related field, combined with min of 7 years of experience in demanding R&D or other managerial positions (incl. Management) in the pulp and paper industry. Experience in larger projects and/or line management is a merit. Proficient English, both written and spoken are required.
You have a good knowledge of Stora Enso products, its processing, cost-base and end-use and a good analytical skill.
You also have a leadership and co-operation skills, as well as ability to act as leader and co-worker in a development organization and in major projects in collaboration with colleagues within as well as outside Stora Enso.
Good ability to actively market, sell and communicate the results from projects as well as services of the Packaging Materials IRD organization to internal customers. The work is conducted in projects, so strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work in matrix organizations as well as communicating your findings is a necessity. You have an innovative attitude and find it natural and inspiring to develop and maintain a strong network within Stora Enso, with Stora Enso customers and with external R&D providers.
You are a great communicator, driven and result orientated and used to “take the lead” and work with change management. You also have the ability to mentor others to deliver work, and make strategy come to life.
You have a people-focused design mentality, but it is very important that you have focus to implement processes.
