Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for the role of Managing Director MD Nordics


This role will lead and deliver P&L accountabilities across MedTech business units in Nordics, with approximately 200 employees (direct reports: 6 commercial + functional indirect reports).


Role's Duties and Responsabilities:
Lead the design and implementation of the local Medical Devices strategy in collaboration with Global and regional internal stakeholders (EMEA/MSM.) Execute in the marketplace by ensuring successful product launches, supported by the right resource allocations of skills, capabilities, and talent, to deliver against targets to optimize growth and win marketplace advantage.
Shape the external environment by developing deep customer and competitor insights & relationships with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders (government policymakers, healthcare executives, hospital groups, surgeons, KOLs, etc.). Leverage market insights to create new commercial models and innovative solutions that optimize stakeholder value and drive growth.
In collaboration with Shared Services Regional and Global Leaders, influence local public policy and decision-making through leadership of country Government Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, QA, Communications & PR functions.
Lead Nordics Management Board to create a high performing, agile and customer-focused, outcome-oriented organization while also serving as a statutory member of the cross-enterprise convergence council in Sweden to determine appropriate business and marketplace strategies.
Develop a robust pipeline of diverse leaders with skills to succeed in a complex and dynamic marketplace and champion initiatives to promote an inclusive workplace environment and highly engaged workforce.
Provide leadership for the Shared Services functions within the country/cluster, ensuring effective integration across MedTech groups and businesses; includes Finance, HR, IT, Business Services, Communications & PR, HEMA, Deliver/Supply Chain, QA, RA, etc.
Provide transformational leadership and guidance for Medical Devices in Nordics through effective organizational design, change management, focused talent selection, and alignment. Lead the transformation while ensuring strong business continuity and continuous growth and energy of the organization.
Identifies convergence or synergy opportunities across MD and other organizations and lead the execution of innovative commercial models to ensure alignment with new, evolving market segmentation.
Ensure Health Care Compliance and integrity principles are championed and actively practiced at every level of the organization



Experience & Qualification Requirements:
Experienced sales and marketing leader with demonstrated skill in delivering on all aspects of a P&L (sales, operating expense, net income).
Strong business and financial acumen and strategic mindset.
Track record of leading large organizations to transform, while achieving results (top line and bottom line) in challenging and complex business environments (not just in growing markets).
A minimum of 12 years of progressive leadership experience is required.
Experience in end-to-end leadership, leading across multiple functions to drive a growth agenda.
Experience in MedTech or Pharma industries strongly preferred.
Fluency in English, any Nordics language would be a strong asset.



Interpersonal Skills & Characteristics:
Knowledge of socio-economic environment and market dynamics in Nordics, and strong customer and external environment orientation. Ability to build mutually beneficial networks and partnerships with key external leaders, and agencies to develop value-generating solutions.
Strong customer and external environment orientation with experience of working directly with government and external agencies to influence healthcare policy and develop value-generating solutions.
Unquestioned ethics, integrity, and Credo-based leadership. Track record of establishing and championing a culture of Health Care Compliance.
Strong organizational leadership, with ability to inspire and mobilize a large organization through periods of continuous change and transformation.
Talent development mindset with a track record of developing a diverse pipeline of successful leaders through coaching, mentoring, and providing courageous feedback. Is a strong, steady role model during periods of change.
Demonstrated enterprise mindset, with ability to influence and collaborate in a global, matrixed environment to achieve business objectives.
