If you’re ambitious, driven and team-spirited, this is your opportunity to build a career as a Manager Drives Electrical and Mechanical Design based in Västerås, Sweden. You will be the the hierarchical link to Site Engineering Director and functional link to RSC Site Engineering Performance.
Your mission?
As Manager Drives Systems Electrical and Mechanical Design you will
Manage and organise Engineering Team according to business and region needs in-line with central engineering guidelines
Perform engineering RSC activities for tenders in the region in touch with central pre-engineering for Drives offers
Manage workforce according workload (firm projects, forecast projects, tender, sustaining and R&D) with focus to avoid any under load and too high over load including appointment of engineering teams.
Drive co-engineering specially with process engineering and co-development with supplier via sourcing
Develop on-site engineering staff including succession planning and competence matrix deployment
Apply common processes, methods and tools and capture RoE for continuous improvement
Monitor projects/programs in engineering which are managed from projects
Your responsibilities?
Accountable for:
Engineering tender commitment and project/R&D engineering QCD
People and resource management incl. Management of site engineering workload and workforce
Supervision of key technical decisions and safety critical issues
Monitoring of engineering actions in projects
Supporting and promoting innovations
Responsible for:
Interface towards the Bogie & Drives Platform and Component Development Site (CDS)
Management and organization of engineering department
Manage interfaces with other stakeholders for co-engineering specially with CDS, Traction Engineering, process engineering and co-development with sourcing/supplier
Contribute to site Engineering strategy
Monitor site engineering activity and inform Site Engineering Director and Site Engineering performance about major events

Presentation, communication
Knowledge & Experience :
Project management incl. work package, risk and opportunity management
> 5 years’ experience
