The Engine Development department within Volvo CE is the centre for development of off-road engines and engine auxiliary components. We are responsible for the mechanical design, performance development, auxiliary component and the engine installation in our Construction Equipment, e.g. Articulated Haulers, Excavators, Wheel Loaders and Road & Utility Machinery. The engine development is centralized in Eskilstuna while our engine installation teams are spread globally.
With the ambition to develop the best off road engines in the world we are searching for a manager responsible for the Engine Performance team consisting of approx. 30 highly skilled and dedicated engineers divided into two sub teams; The Engine & Machine Application team and the Performance Engineering team both located in Eskilstuna.
As a manager for the Engine Performance teams you will have the overall responsibility for all Engine performance related activities and deliveries according to below main areas;
- Performance and characteristics of engine and subsystems
- Fulfilling engine emission legislation
- Responsible for all engine SW deliveries to AE, NP and PM according to agreed time plans
- Engine SW/DST releases within internal development projects and projects run in cooperation with external suppliers
- Continuously develop the team and manager reporting to you
- Contribution to the Engine development Strategy
- Close cooperation with our colleagues within the Engine and Auxiliaries team, Machine Platforms, Volvo Group and partners
Education/Qualifications required for the position:
- Master of Science or many years of experience from engine development
- Experience from engineering management, product development, engine performance development and software function / application development.
- Understanding of complete machines and their need of engine performance
- Engine emission legislation knowledge
- Deep understanding of combustion engines
