We’re now looking for a forward-thinking Manager for Design Methods – Product R&D. A vital role where you get to add value to our future operations by setting guidelines and ways of working within the department, guiding the business in how to work within the area of design method development. Your mission
Together with your team you’re responsible for developing, implementing and supporting designing methods and techniques – an important contribution to the automation of our design and manufacturing process. You make sure we continuously maintain and improve our methods by gathering needs from our stakeholders and act proactively to meet future demands. Your work include product development and as a leader, you promote a customer focused mindset and involve all stakeholders in driving efficiency. You develop your team and ways of working to support the aim of reduced development lead times, reduced rework, and improved efficiency. Your job can also involve a strategic height where you take responsibility and coordinate between departments to find synergies and common points of development. To ensure latest technology and working methods are applied you build strong relationships with Offer Management, Supply and IT – securing the development of products contributing to profitable growth and exceeding customer expectations.
The location for this position is Sandviken and travel is a natural part of your job.
Your profile/About you
We’re looking for an inclusive leader with experience from design and CAD combined with knowledge in development who can act as a role model for your team of method development engineers. You have a degree within a relevant field of studies and to succeed in this role, you’re experienced in modern innovation and development methods with a track record in planning and conducting R&D work. It's meritorious if you have experience from a supporting role, operational improvements, standard operating procedures, change management, state-of-the-art CAD, CAM and PLM environments. Experience from metal cutting technologies and applications is advantageous. As we act in a global environment, you need excellent communication skills in English.
