Sustainable Business at Sandvik involves reducing negative economic, environmental and social impacts from business activities while turning this responsibility into a business advantage. Purchasing has been identified as a prioritized target area for Sustainable Business and consequently, right now we are looking for a Manager for Sustainable Supplier Management who wants to lead the implementation of the "Sandvik Sustainable Supplier Management Concept" on a global scale.
Key performance areas
In addition to leading the implementation of the "Sandvik Sustainable Supplier Management Concept" globally, as Manager for Sustainable Supplier Management, you will provide it with permanent visibility. You will be in charge of the rollout of the program, and of ensuring that sustainable supplier management becomes an everyday routine for all purchasers at Sandvik. Furthermore, you will follow up the supplier compliance status with the Sandvik Supplier Code of Conduct (SSCC), and develop and improve sustainable purchasing practices at Sandvik, with global leaders as the benchmark. In addition, it is your responsibility to ensure that all additional Sandvik sustainability-related targets and ambitions are aligned and integrated with the purchasing/sourcing targets, as well as to ensure that the resources allocated for sustainability are allocated to supplier management projects, driving both short and long term objectives and value.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with an MSc degree (in a field such as Purchasing, Supply Chain and Logistics or Sustainability), with extensive understanding and/or educational background in Corporate Social Responsibility. You are preferably a certified lead auditor in SA 8000, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001, with thorough experience and a proven track record of working with supply chain management with a focus on sustainability and CSR in a global context, as well as solid experience in global sourcing, sustainable supplier management, supplier evaluation and auditing. To be well suited for this role you need experience in, and deep knowledge of, audit procedures, including risk-based planning and audit methods. Great communication skills in English, with the ability to express yourself both verbally, in writing and in presentations, are a prerequisite. Knowledge of other languages, such as Swedish, Finnish, Mandarin or Spanish, is an advantage.
