Valueone is recruiting a Manager Global Sourcing Mechanics for our customer Polarium in Stockholm. The role
The role as Manager Global Sourcing Mechanics includes responsibility for mechanics and plastic moulding: aluminum, extrusion & diecasting, sheet metal, plastic injection moulding, packaging etc. You will also be responsible for leading and develop the work within the category as well as continously drive cost and supply improvements. The role means that you will interact closely with suppliers as well as internal teams and stakeholders, supporting with knowledge and services within your category.
The position is based at Polarium´s headquarter in Kista. Business trips will occur, sometimes on short notice and mainly international.
Main tasks:
Lead daily activities. Develop and implement category strategies within mechanics as well as plastic categories.
Develop and implement business continuity plans for critical materials.
Lead various RFx from start to end, which includes creation as well as facilitation of the entire process, through supplier evaluations, supplier selection and implementation.
Manage complex sourcing projects and lead contract negotiations that maximize value for Polarium.
Continuously collaborate with suppliers to develop, implement supply and cost strategies that support release
d products as well as new product development.
Consult with various departments on supplier management related matters.
Follow up and analyze cost break down calculations.
Develop and maintain risk & opportunity plans.
Keep updated on global industry trends and technology roadmaps. Actively collaborate with R&D to identify/mitigate supply and demand challenges.
Manage supplier relationships and performance. This includes, but is not limited to, dispute resolution, supplier performance as well as periodic business reviews.
Participate in DFS, DFM (Design For Sourcing, Design For Manufacturing) reviews with engineering partners and prospective suppliers.
Integrate with product development activities with R&D, Project Managers etc. to proactively assure parts availability, identify lead-time requirements, manage contractual obligations and establish comprehensive sourcing strategies, prices, BOM costs etc.
Experience and competencies
For this position we are looking for an experienced sourcing or category responsible for mechanical commodities with 5-10 years´ experience from sourcing in a manufacturing environment. A university degree in a technical field or related disciplines is desirable. The role requires knowledge from working with Asian and Chinese suppliers. You also need to have expert skills and experience in reading engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes. Furthermore, the role requires experience from sourcing or procurement of direct material for manufacturing in a global supplier base environment. We expect you to be fluent in English both spoken and written as well as be proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel. Knowledge from agile development is desired. Applicants outside Sweden must have a valid work permit.
The person we are looking for must have holistic view on Supply Chain and excellent communication skills. You are a driven self-starter with a can-do-attitude who like to work strategically as well as in projects. We expect you to be analytical and structured as a person and you enjoy working and multi-task in a fast-paced technically dynamic environment and entrepreneurial culture.
