You will be part of Marine and Ports in Västerås. ABB’s business for ports assists shipping companies to transfer containers in a reliable, quick and cost-efficient way. Ports is specialized in advanced automation and information systems for motion control of all types of container cranes. We are the leading supplier of crane systems and are active worldwide. In the large terminal automation projects we deliver electric and automation systems for 50 to 100 cranes, to the major container ports in the world.
Information solutions department is responsible for collecting all data produced by ABB Ports automated cranes and process all data to generate production data, live 3D visualization, reports, maintenance data for our end-customers to help them to run the terminal and maintain the cranes.
This position reports to Technology Manager.
Your responsibilities
In this role, you will be a member of the Technology management team
You will lead a department of 8-10 multi-international SW Engineers
This department develops and maintains Information solution SW components. You have the direct responsibility to ensure R&D results, customer project deliverables are in line with agreed expectations
Manage and ensure department spending is in line with agreed budget
Ensure Information solution SW components and solutions are developed, tested, maintained, planned and documented
You ensure your fantastic engineers are developed in a direction that support ABB Ports long term strategy in your area of responsibility

Your background
You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or relevant field together with a few years of experience as a Software Developer
Experience in software testing
Experience from team lead or line manager role is valuable
Proficiency in object oriented languages such as Delphi (main environment), C++ or Java
Used tools for development are Delphi, GLScene, Jenkins, Teamforge, Subversion and JIRA development is valuable
Windows environment, Microsoft SQL Server. Linux is beneficial knowledge
Since you will work in a global company, you need to master English in both speech and writing, Swedish language skills are meriting
