The Logistics engineering department consists of about 20 skilled logistic engineers. We are responsible for setting up the flow for all parts coming in to the plant and make sure they end up at the assembly line at the right place, time and quantity. We strive to make our flows as lean as possible in order to be efficient and stay ahead of our competitors. As Volvo Trucks is taking the lead in truck development, product updates comes regularly and we need to plan and prepare well in advance for change.
We support production and material handling functions by securing logistic setups and system preparation.
Role description
As manager for Logistics engineering you will manage and develop the group to achieve our logistic and plant targets. The plant is in a period of great change and you need to understand, plan and execute according to the plant masterplan.
You will be part of the management team of the Logistic department and report to the Logistics director. Within the Logistic Management Team we share a cooperative, supportive & open atmosphere. Our Management Team drives the operation result oriented and with care for our customers, collaborators and colleagues.
Main responsibilities:
Secure introductions and phasing out of part numbers/variants/products
Lead the team to improve the way of working (X functional work)
Lead, develop and retain team members
Test ideas and implement change management
Lead and follow-up the team KPI´s
Contribute as a member of the Logistic management team and the global networks
Continuously work to develop and improve the business process
Follow global guidelines and strategies and align to globally defined and agreed process
Develop the internal processes to fit a lean production, VPS and Volvo Operational Concept
Who are you?

You have a University Degree preferably in Engineering
You have significant experience of manufacturing, and it is also advantageous if you have previous experience of a leading position
You have great skills in written and spoken Swedish as well as English
Good leader with the courage and integrity needed to drive and implement changes
Team oriented person with strong interest in people development
Ability to work in cross functional environment and matrix organization
Ability for strategic items
Ability to prioritize and plan resource utilization
Customer focus with good communication skills
Experience from change management is preferable
Experience from Logistic process/Logistic engineering
Well organized with interest to develop structure, methods and tools
Having the ability to see the big picture.
