The Maintenance team belongs to the Engineering function at Volvo Penta Vara Operations, and we are responsible to support and improve the production performance and secure that the maintenance works get done in an efficient way. The team is based at the site in Vara, Sweden and today we are twelve great knowledgeable colleagues with a supportive attitude working together.
So, what does a Manager Maintenance do?
We are looking for a curious and courageous Manager for our maintenance team who will lead the experienced mechanics, electricians and one maintenance engineer. As Manager Maintenance you will plan and align the work to be able to conduct urgent, preventive & modifying maintenance and together with the operation develop a systematic way of working which should create a high utilization of the operation.
We believe the Manger Maintenance needs to have experience of leadership and the capability to develop and implement smart manufacturing and new production processes. Long-term vision is to transform from “maintenance” to “operational reliability” and the Manager Maintenance need to create engagement for improvement work and organize & conduct trainings in modern ways of conduction maintenance.
An important part of your role will also be to support the Manager of the Engineering function in developing the organization and the collaboration with other functions within Volvo Penta & Volvo Group to create rigid but flexible processes. The Manager Maintenance reports to the manager of the Engineering function.
Who are you?
To be qualified for this position we see that you hold a university degree in Engineering, Automation or Maintenance or have similar knowledge and/or experience from manufacturing operations in a plant environment with a focus on maintenance. You have experience from structuring work and improving ways of working as well as leading change. Most certainly you have experience from conducting negotiations and supporting the business. Formal leader experience is needed for this role.
Further, we believe you have basic knowledge in Swedish working environment regulations and some knowledge in quality and environmental standards. Language skills in English and Swedish are a must since we are acting in an international environment. Finally, we see that experience from Volvo’s systems and processes as a merit as well as Lean manufacturing knowledge.
