The Electromobility Department is responsible for developing electromobility solutions and to secure a stepwise implementation in different segments/regions. This organization develops and drives the electromobility product portfolio for Trucks & Buses as well as creating opportunities for all business areas within the Volvo Group.


The importance of electromobility is growing every day and a key component within the electrified powertrain is the Energy Storage System (ESS). At our section, we are accountable for the lifecycle management of the ESS, from advanced engineering, throughout product development into the maintenance phase.


We are now recruiting a Manager for the Medium Range BEV Product Group

Responsibilities / Main tasks
As Manager for the Medium Range product group you will be the Product Owner of the batteries targeting applications with a medium range and energy content. Typical applications for these products are city busses, medium duty trucks and other Volvo Group products. Your team and you are responsible for these products over time including roadmaps, concept studies, current projects and product improvements, maintenance and quality. You have a highly dedicated team of project managers, planners and system architects that gather the needs from our brands and BAs as well as other requirements to ensure that we develop industry leading batteries. You are responsible to lead projects and solve quality issues. You are closely connected to the technology groups that will ensure we have the leading technology. You are running a cross-functional network internally and are closely connected to key suppliers. You have a good view of our competitors and their future plans. You are open and positive and like to lead technology and people. Who are you? Are we a perfect match?
To be able to fully enjoy this position you should be ambitious, energetic and a communicative leader with an entrepreneurial mind-set creating strong business relations. Since the area is in an early phase, it is important that you are flexible and enjoy working in a changing environment. Broad experience within electromobility and batteries is important as well as a good knowledge of the Volvo Group products and their different applications. You should have a strong experience working in Volvo Group development processes and have experience running larger projects. Experience from maintenance and quality work is a merit. You should have experience in combining needs from different stakeholders into a common strategy and a product roadmap creating common platforms for the Volvo Group. Good stakeholder management and communication is a must as well as at least 3 years’ experience as group manager. We see that you have a M.Sc. level or equivalent experience.
You will be part of a cross-functional and international environment, with English as a natural language for written and spoken communication.
