Manager NEU, Project Transport

Vestas is looking for a Project Transport Manager, who is fully responsible for all transport deliveries to project sites of the Vestas Northern Europe region, to which especially Denmark, Finland, Norway, Poland and Sweden belong to. In this function it is expected that a continuous focus on lead time reduction is driven and to get all required components delivered to all production sites in-time and on-budget.
Leading successfully a team of around 4 persons and the continuous dialogue with both internal and external stakeholders in different countries will enable the right candidate to develop and thrive in a truly global company. Furthermore, the expectation is to lead and to support business critical improvements with the focus and support of our systems and processes.

Supply Chain Planning/Global Transport/EMEA Project Transport/NEU Project Transport
The Transport Manager will be positioned within the EMEA Project Transport area and will be responsible for the Northern Europe (NEU) Project Transport organization. Around 4 highly skilled and motivated colleagues will be reporting to the Transport Manager.
The department has the full responsibility in the Northern Europe region for the transportation of all required oversize, heavy-lift and also general cargo transportations. This includes Budgeting, Planning, Execution and Controlling.
The responsibility is the full coordination of deliveries together with the factory, the construction sites, our global vessel team , the nominated transport company and other relevant stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the Transport Manager and his/her team:
Prepare Scope of Supply / Transport Requirement
Project Budget preparation and responsibility (financial transport cost ownership)
Preparing of project transport planning (incl. Road Surveys and kick-off meetings)
Ensure alignment of transport shipment planning with production and construction planning
Timely reporting, feedback and communication
Coordinate deliveries and delivery changes with Project Managers, Site Managers, Transport Companies, Customs, Vessel, General Cargo and potentially the TC at origin (incl. WTG foundations & Site Parts). Also the coordination of on carriage leg loading in Port of Discharge with Stevedore
Investigate and support problem-solving of delivery and transport quality issues
Plan and coordinate return transport of transport equipment from construction sites to factories
Transport capacity monitoring as well as monitoring and reporting of transport risks
Following Vestas processes and standards, including the correct usage of our Transport Management Sytem
Managing a Team of around 4 persons

Qualifications
Education within the transport area or similar combined with well-developed project management skills
Several years of experience from a transport company or similar
Leadership Experience of at least 2 years
