Financial Control & Accounting (FCA) is the function in Group Reporting Tax & Control (part of Group Finance) with responsibility to secure that financial performance is correctly reflected for Business Areas, Truck Divisions, Group Functions and legal entities. FCA is also a global service provider through Accounting Services with process efficient, standardized service deliveries supporting local finance. FCA employs close to 1 400 people in 50+ countries.
FCA Group & Sweden is the part of FCA with responsibility for financial performance reporting for Business Areas, Truck Divisions, Group Functions and legal entities based in Sweden. Around 40 legal entities and 15 global group accounting flows are managed in this organization.
Position description – what you will do:
As head of Tax & VAT specialists you will lead and develop three critical teams on Tax, VAT and Global indirect taxes. In total there are 20 highly skilled and engaged Tax and VAT specialists working in teams concerned. The Tax and VAT teams are responsible for high quality and compliant tax/VAT accounting, tax returns and reporting. The scope is 40 Volvo Group legal entities in Sweden. The team for Global Indirect taxes focuses on continuous improvement in the area of tax and VAT on Volvo Group global basis.
You have a professional mindset and can act as a strong stakeholder in the finance/tax/VAT community. In this key position you will be able to use all your experience to influence the development and digitalization of Tax and VAT compliance throughout the Volvo Group. You enjoy working in an international and flexible environment. You are a good communicator, change leader and team player.
You will report to Vice President Financial Control & Accounting Group & Sweden and be part of the FCA Group & Sweden Management team.
Main activities and responsibilities:
Secure accuracy, completeness and true and fair view of Tax and VAT accounting and reporting for legal entities concerned.
Secure compliance, reporting, analyses and communication of relevant information to internal and external stakeholders.
Implement and follow up Volvo Group policies and procedures, ensure compliance including IFRS, local GAAP, tax and VAT requirements and internal control objectives.
Drive further harmonization/standardization/digitalization of different administrative processes globally and in your areas of responsibility.
Develop effective teams were people take pride in being responsible for their deliveries.
Have focus on people development by creating an environment for growth.
Apply inclusive leadership taking advantage of the full diversity of the team.
Participate in, and sometimes lead, change projects in the finance/tax/VAT community.
Personal profile:
Academic degree in accounting, tax, finance or similar
Solid experience from tax/VAT, accounting and finance
Solid leadership experience, multi-cultural and global exposure is an advantage
Excellent ability to communicate, engage and drive toward a target vision
Good understanding of the Volvo Group’s business is an advantage
Passion for leadership, people development and team growth
Passion for continuously improving administration
Understanding of Volvo’s reporting systems (VGCS, BCS, SAP R/3, Essbase) is an advantage
The position occasionally requires travel.
