Manager Payroll & HR Service Center

About the role

You will be responsible for securing a broad field of payroll and service center activities. This role is part of Stena Line HR based in Gothenburg. You will lead and manage two great teams consisting of 10 employees: HR Service Center and Payroll. Your mission will be to secure correct payroll calculations, HR services & data quality as well as building good relationships to our internal customers & external business partners.

In addition to this, your main responsibilities will include:

Active contribution in the development of streamlined, automated payroll and administration processes
Securing data quality by organizing routines and processes
Support preparation of business cases and HR IT projects with payroll /HR Service Center focus
Establish service relevant standards to fulfil customers expectations.


Your profile

We are looking for a hands-on person with a customer-oriented mindset and a passion for steering and optimizing administrative service. We are looking for a person who is result oriented and with the ability to deliver to different stakeholders inside and outside the company. The right attitude will play a vital role and our leaders should be welcoming, caring and reliable. You promote team effectiveness by facilitating and with a high involvement of relevant stakeholders.

You have at least 5 years of profound work experience from a similar position in Payroll Services and besides that have experience to independently manage the entire payroll process yourself
You have worked in a “unionized working environment” in terms of a more complex organization with different collective bargains and agreements
You have a few years of earlier leadership experience and identify yourself as a confident leader
You are a good communicator and fluent in Swedish & English language both orally and written
Preferable if you have a bachelor’s degree, Higher Vocational Education or equivalent within HR, Payroll or Finance
Ideally, project experiences with regards to payroll /data systems are existing and extensive experience to run a full end-to-end process from pre-systems to financial and other reporting systems.


The position is a permanent employment with admission as soon as possible. As Manager for Payroll & HR Service Center you will lead a team of 10 employees and report to Stena Line’s Area Head of HR. You will be based at Stena Lines Head office in Gothenburg.
