About the role
The Manager Planning is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the planning activities across multiple factories within the organization. This role includes managing a team of supply planners and production schedulers to ensure effective production planning, inventory management, and timely delivery of products. The Manager Planning reports directly to the Director Supply Chain and plays a vital role in optimizing operational efficiency, meeting customer demands, and driving overall supply chain performance.
Main accountabilities:
• Develop and implement comprehensive production planning strategies and processes for all factories.
• Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to determine production requirements and align them with demand forecasts.
• Optimize production schedules to achieve efficient resource utilization and minimize production costs.
• Monitor production progress, identify bottlenecks, and proactively tackle issues to ensure on-time delivery.
Develop inventory control policies and procedures to maintain optimal stock levels across factories.
• Collaborate with supply planners to analyse demand patterns, forecast accuracy, and inventory turnover rates.
• Implement strategies to minimize stock-outs, reduce excess inventory, and improve inventory turnover metrics.
• Monitor and evaluate inventory performance metrics and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, logistics, and operations to align planning activities with overall supply chain objectives.
• Collaborate with production managers to optimize capacity planning and resource allocation.
• Lead and manage a team of supply planners and production schedulers across multiple factories.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to team members.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
The office location for this role is Gothenburg, Sweden.
Who you are:
• University degree in supply chain management, operations management or other related field.
• Proven experience in supply chain planning, production scheduling, or related roles, with at least 5 years in a managerial position.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, production planning methodologies, and inventory management practices.
• Proficiency in using supply chain planning software and advanced spreadsheet applications.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
• Strong leadership abilities with a track record of effectively managing teams and driving performance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at various levels.
• Results-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
