Job Description
Data Centre (YIOD)
The Vattenfall IT Data Centre department is accountable for Data Centres and Public Cloud services. Vattenfall IT has adopted a "cloud first" strategy. The Public Cloud Platform Services department is responsible for delivering Public Cloud services. For workloads that are not suitable for public cloud services, Vattenfall IT provides country-based Data Centres with traditional on-premise hosting platforms. Vattenfall IT is transitioning to Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) platforms, moving away from traditional hosting towards private cloud architectures and platform service delivery for workloads that require country or business-specific regulatory compliance.
Private Cloud Platform Services (YIODW)
Vattenfall IT Data Centre has established a new N-4 department to manage Private Cloud Platform Services. This department is responsible for overseeing the services, operations and ensuring the smooth functioning of the Private Cloud Platform. To streamline the operations further, the department has been divided into three N-5 sub-departments, each with a specific focus and responsibilities:
As our new Manager VPC Platform Management you will lead a multi-competence team of approximately 8 internal employees and 3 contractors. You will be responsible for leading Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) platform management department, primarily in the areas of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) operational management. The VPC platform management department will be responsible for managing the BLUE, SESE-D hosting, and private cloud platforms operationally.
Your main responsibilities:
Develop yourself and your team, including HR-related activities, performance management, career development, recruitment, and onboarding of direct reports.
Lead a multicultural team of IT professionals with diverse competencies in delivering quality-assured, secure, compliant, and stable IT operations services.
Ensure that the team meets its operational targets, including service levels, incident response times, and project delivery.
Manage the day-to-day activities of the team, including scheduling, prioritising, and delegating tasks.
Act as the primary point of contact for customers and stakeholders, ensuring that their needs are met in a timely and professional manner.
Together with your team, develop and maintain operational policies, procedures, and documentation.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure that IT operations are aligned with organisational goals and objectives.
Continuously seek to improve IT operations processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Report on department performance, operational metrics, and other key indicators.

Furthermore you bring:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience)
Knowledge of IT service management frameworks such as ITIL
You like to inspire, attract and retain digital talent
Motivating, energizing and driving team performance brings you satisfaction
You enjoy communicating and working closely with customers, stakeholders, and team members
Several years of experience in large-scale Data Centre infrastructure, hosting, or cloud platform operations working with multiple stakeholders
General technical knowledge in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), Windows, Linux Server, and storage operations
Basic understanding of security compliance based on ISO/IEC 27001 (iSMS) international standard in area of IT operations
You enjoy solving complex problems
Ability to manage multiple assignments, projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Knowledge of the local language in the chosen location (Berlin, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Gliwice, or Katowice) is a plus.
