HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a product group in Hitachi Energy, which develops, manufactures, and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. It is also used to connect power systems.
You will be part of HVDC Service in Ludvika. The HVDC technology has been on the market for the past 60 years and is used to transmit electrical power over long distances with minimal losses, using overhead lines, underground and submarine cable systems as well as to interconnect ac networks asynchronously to achieve optimized operation.
Your responsibilities
As manager of the department, you will be responsible for operational & strategic development of the functions, guidance, coaching and development of the staff.
The Project Support department within HVDC Service Operations deals with planning, order handling, documentation, field operations and training for service projects.
The planning function deals with project time schedules for projects of different size and nature.
The documentation function manages documents needed for tendering and execution of the projects.
The field operation focusses on development of routines and deployment of staff needed for performing installation, commissioning and other service activities at project sites.
The training function manages and conducts training of the customer’s personnel required under different types of projects.

Your background
First and foremost, you are a confident leader with the ability to strike a balance between strategic, tactical and operational tasks to ensure that they are in line with our business’s local and global priorities.
You have good collaborative and communicative skills and thrive in a multi-cultural environment.
You have capability to inspire and support your team to achieve high performance.
You hold Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering and have a minimum 7 years’ experience from relevant sector/industry, out of which a minimum of two years as line or project manager.
Experience from HVDC projects will be an advantage.
You should be fluent in English - written and spoken. Proficiency in Swedish language will be an advantage.
