With an ambition to further build our thought leadership by strengthening our dialogue with key societal stakeholders we are looking forward to welcoming a new Manager Public Affairs to the team. In this role you will work with a variety of stakeholders to create trust in the Volvo Group by building and maintaining relations internally and externally with societal stakeholders such as politicians, authorities, NGO’s, trade associations, universities, and other institutions.
The work of Group Public Affairs involves regular proactive and reactive communications to share our views on current issues with society at large. As Manager Public Affairs you will have the responsibility to engage stakeholders in order to explain Volvo Group policies, provide statistical and factual information and to proactively influence on issues which could impact Volvo Group's ability to operate successfully. You will have the responsibility to build a well-established interface between Volvo Group and relevant stakeholders in society.
You will be part of the Group Public Affairs team reporting to the Senior Vice President Group Public Affairs at Volvo Group headquarters. You will be an important team player influencing political decisions based on Volvo Group positions. You will be focusing on transport policy including freight logistics and issues/opportunities related to our customers business.
You will do this in close collaborative spirit jointly with the whole team:
Analyze opportunities and threats from a political and regulatory point of view
Provide intelligence and knowledge for internal and external decisions, strategies, policies and messages
Initiate, coordinate, and run projects driving our Public Affairs agenda
Write and compile briefing documents, talking points and messages to the CEO, executive board members and others
Represent the Volvo Group on various seminars and open consultations
Build and maintain relations with key politicians, authorities, trade associations etc.
Organize and coordinate visits from high level delegations and delegation trips
Explore digital ways of communicating with the ambition to strengthen the dialogue with both well-known and new stakeholders
Experience and Education
To be successful in this position you need to have a great interest in the work we do and an extensive experience from working within one or more of the areas: Public Affairs, Strategy, Business Intelligence, Strategic Communication, Business Development or Management Consulting. You have the experience of managing internal and external relations at different levels and the ability to network effectively and build long-lasting relationships across functional and geographical areas. You have exceptional writing and communicative skills in Swedish and English. You have the ability to engage internal as well as external stakeholders.

Documented experience from driving the public affairs agenda in a multinational and multicultural company.
Experience from dialogue with authorities and politicians and significant experience from managing relations.
Strong interpersonal skills including an ability to network effectively across a diverse stakeholder base and to build enduring relationships across functional and geographical areas.
Understanding of the business environment and the transport-/logistics industry.
Strong analytical skills in combination with creativity, drive and target orientation.
Open and positive attitude with a holistic view.
Skilled presenter comfortable in presenting to a wide audience.
A bachelor´s or master´s degree in a relevant field.
