Position description
Right now, we can offer a great opportunity as Manager Purchasing Components with the mission to manage a team of buyers with commercial, strategic, tactical and operational responsibility for an assigned area within Purchasing and is responsible to lead, control, plan and organize to reach set goals and targets.
In addition, this role will challenge and drive the necessary change in the Volvo Penta transformation from existing Technology to a future sustainable technology.
As a Manager Purchasing for Components you and your team will have the responsibilities for commodities such as Plastics, Rubber, Hoses, Pipes, Sheet metal, Fasteners & Machined metal.
Responsibilities
Reporting to Director Purchasing Engine & Transmission
Active member in the commercial Engine & Transmission management team leading assigned activities
Commercial responsibility for assigned area
Manage a team of buyers with the responsibility to organize and support the organization to meet the objectives
Commercial & QDCF-TSR responsibility for assigned Commodities and supplier base (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature – Technology, Sustainability, Risk)
Secure and implement commodity Strategies, to secure the supplier base to meet the future challenges
Ensure and prioritize proactive RISK management for your assigned area
Secure resources to meet the current & future challenges
Further develop the people to bring the best out of each individual and ensure Volvo Penta Purchasing is a good workplace
Maintaining and improving existing supplier relations
Be a strong contributor to maintain/improve Volvo Penta profitability
Work with continues improvements
Deliver on decided KPIs and meet targets and objectives
Secure collaboration & cross-functional work within Volvo Penta and Volvo Group

Overall requirement

The position is based in Gothenburg, Sweden, and will require occasional travel.
