What you will be part of
Electronic Warfare and Aircraft Systems (EWAS) is a business unit within the business area Surveillance. The part located in Huskvarna focuses on safety critical aircraft systems for both civilian and military aircraft.
Safety Critical Engineering is a part of the Engineering organization. The Department is responsible for engineering competences and have about 110 employees in a variety of areas, Software, Electronics, Power and PLD, Test Equipment, Qualification and Verification, Team management, Systems Engineering, Mechanics, ILS and System Safety. Other areas of responsibility are the Systems Development Processes, Methods and Tools (PM&T) where we have demanding requirements of cost-efficient and competitive development of high quality, safety critical applications.

Your role
As Manager for Qualification and Integration within Engineering, your main tasks will be to manage competence development and resources within environmental qualification, systems integration, design test and system verification.
Process management, methods and tools for qualification and integration including adaptations for projects as well as to drive improvements, e.g. way-of-working and cost effectiveness will be within your responsibility. You will have close collaboration with the Project Managers, Manager for Electronic HW, the Manager for Systems Engineering among others.
It is expected that you get involved in the business and help our projects to succeed. This will be done by e.g. matching the right profile and competence to the project needs, be part of quotes, meeting the customer, supporting the project in process tailoring, coach and support the project members within your domain and improving ways of working. You will have a close collaboration with other Engineering Managers, Product Managers and Project Managers among others.
The group consists of 8 employees with different areas of expertise. The group members spend most of their time working in our projects and you as the line manager have an important part in giving the group a sense of belonging, spreading experience and coach the employees.
Examples of responsibilities for the group:
* Environmental Qualification (Temperature, vibration, EMI etc according to DO-160 Standad)
* Design tests (Mechanical endurance and life time tests, HALT/HASS etc)
* System integration ( integration of functionality between different components of a system HW/SW)
You will report to the Head of Safety Critical Engineering and be a member of the Safety Critical Engineering Management Team.
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
