Valmet’s Foundry in Karlstad is now looking for a quality and safety manager.
The foundry provides casted yankee cylinders to Valmet paper machines, but the main production is for other external customers. Sizes of the goods varies from 4 ton up to 150 ton. Castings are made in ductile or gray cast iron of different qualities. Example of external production is components for wind turbines, motor blocks, tools, and different machines.
Are you the candidate we are looking for?
We are working as a team where you will be responsible for leading the quality and safety work in our foundry. You will have a quality team that consists of 5-8 persons, depending on the workload, to your help.
In the contact with customer and quality follow up you are the internal driver in the foundry.
You will be leading the safety work in the foundry where the foundry management is contributing. Some safety projects will need a project leader where the safety manager will have a natural role.
Your main tasks and focus areas are: 
Responsible for maintaining and development of foundry quality system.
Supporting foundry operation in quality related processes and investigations.
Taking the lead in foundry quality revisions, external and/or internal.
Responsible for the quality follow up and documentation according to customers’ requests.
Leading of safety related projects and improvement.

To be successful in this role, you should have:
Degree from a technical university, preferably with a focus on metallic materials.
Experience from NDT methods.
Leader experience.
Experience from quality work and quality systems.
Energy and the desire to develop systems, personnel, and methods.
