The Research & Technology team within Tetra Pak Processing Systems has a global role to drive advanced studies or/and activities of new technologies and production concepts and to extend our organisations knowledge about food processing. Many of our activities are complex and are run together with customers, industrial partners and/or universities. The specialists of the team also support Tetra Pak market and product companies with technology expertise in commercial projects and product development.
We are looking for a Manager research and technology who will be directing the development of new technologies for processing equipment and help us built up deeper knowledge in current and future food applications. You will head the research and development department and drive a systematically approach on securing long term competitiveness with leading innovations for process equipment and food application technologies. You will also drive the support to the business with deep technology knowledge, in advanced applications and develop technical readiness for product development. Moving into a faster changing environment, you will support the team in the transition in new ways of working and extensive external partnership with our 2030 goal in mind.
This position is based in Lund, Sweden and you will be required to travel to a small amount of your working time.
What you will do
As Manager Research & Technology, you will:
Drive long term technical road maps and securing step change solutions in selected areas.
Drive knowledge building in new food applications.
Drive medium term technical /food application development in collaboration with food categories /Business Units.
Support Business units, market companies and other parts of Tetra Pak with technical expertise in customer situations.
Drive academic partnerships.
Who you are
We believe that you are a technically curious person that like interact with people. You have the ability to drive transformation and to lead and motivate your team through ambiguity and change. Through change you have a structured and mentoring capability, and an agile mindset is natural for you. An important part of the work is to support and interact with many stakeholders on different levels and from different functions, why your communication skills must be excellent. Of course, building and maintaining networks with colleagues throughout the organization is essential.
It is required that you have an educational background within Food Technology, or equivalent. Higher exam (PhD) is a big advantage. Previous work experience from the food industry is an advantage, but not mandatory for this position. You have at least 10 years of experience working with innovation, preferably within Food Technology. Important is that you can apply your knowledge within technology in a business perspective. As our customers and contacts are from all over the world fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
