Manager Scientific Support Europe

Role Summary/Purpose

As manager for this team you will support the achievement of the regional and local annual sales & profit plans by the provision of advice, guidance and scientific support on all aspects of the Company?s products and solutions to both customers and colleagues. This role will report into the Business Support Leader Europe and work very closely with our regional marketing. It includes the management of Consumables, Protein Separation and Protein Analytic support specialists in Europe.

Essential Responsibilities

Manage team to respond to local and regional customer technical enquirers and feedback received from customers and/or colleagues, to deliver solutions which meet the customer needs and use appropriate communication channels.
Manage team to maintain a high level of technical knowledge and competence on specialist subjects, products and their applications.
Manage European Scientific Support team to provide professional guidance to improve the customer experience, facilitate team communication and the sharing of best practices within.
Communicate with Sales and regional Marketing to align technical/scientific activities with sales needs and business objectives
Support the development and use of tools which improve the customer experience
Energize team and maintain adherence of field processes and appropriate mix of technical excellence

Qualifications/Requirements

BSc degree in Chemistry, Biotechnology or equivalent experience.
PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant field of research preferred.
Hands-on experience from consumable, Protein Separation or Protein Analytic applications (example ÄKTA, Lab media, columns, Biacore or scanners)
Excellent English skills
Good communicator and team-worker with commercial attitude
Track record of delivering according to agreed targets

Desired Characteristics

Experience from commercial roles or similar technical/Scientific support roles
Experience from leadership role
