Manager Software Verification

The Manager Software Verification manages a team of software test engineers to design, develop, test and automate verification of Cepheid’s C360 connected platform. Cepheid C360 is a web-based cloud software platform providing administrative and analytics support for Cepheid’s GeneXpert product family.
Software verification team is focused on automated tests development for a product with front-end written in Angular and a back-end in Java/Spring. The work is done in cross-functional Agile scrum teams together with Software Quality (SQA) to develop and test cloud services for disease surveillance and systems administration in the diagnostics area.


This role require a combination of a highly technical hands-on software test engineer and an dedicated people manager. Position is within software development organization and reporting directly to director of software development.
Job responsibilities include:
Lead the execution and delivery of C360 software test and verification activities
Perform employee performance management including goal setting and performance review
Provide coaching and mentoring to team members
Oversee the assignments and duties of employees including day-to-day activities
Manage requirement analysis, design, test development and test activities, schedules, resource allocations, and delivery of the verification output
Drive end-to-end quality with effective automation of unit level, component level and system level testing
Ensure design and code reviews, analysis of code components, test components and test coverage of the product are meeting the highest standard
Recruit, inspire, and develop team members
Responsibility includes interacting with cross-functional stakeholders from SW Development, SQA, Marketing, Service and support organizations, and project/program managers during the development and delivery of the product

Experience from fostering a strong test engineering culture, setting clear expectations and creating a positive work environment based on accountability, in collaboration with software engineering and core teams
Communicate cross-functionally across various teams, organizations and internal and external stakeholders to drive engineering testing efforts
Proven project management capabilities
Good communication and organizational skills
Experience with Agile development process
Results oriented person with a delivery focus
Working experience with Software test automation with Java, Spring using e.g. JUnit, Cucumber, Selenium
Experience with REST, JSON, SQL/MySQL
Comfortable in using a wide variety of open source technologies and tools
Working experience with Git, Linux (command line)
Knowledge about CI, Jenkins is meriting
Ability to communicate both at the code level as well as translation between broader business imperatives and low-level implementation details.
Background from medical device industry or regulated industry is meriting
Fluent in English, speaker and writer on technical subjects
Knowledge in Swedish is meriting



Minimum qualifications:


Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of related work experience or Master’s degree in field with 5-10 years of related work experience
