Strategy and Innovation is the where the lighthouse vision for the VFS business is created and pursued. The Strategy and Innovation team charts our company’s strategic journey to further improve performance and to deliver the best customer experience in the industry.
The Manager of Strategy is a core part of the VFS Strategy and Innovation team and a key player in the development and communication of the VFS corporate strategy. This role is a VFS Global headquarters role located at the Volvo Group headquarters and embedded with strategy teams of the Volvo Group to ensure alignment. This position reports to the Director, Strategy and will be based in Gothenburg, Sweden.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide analysis for the continuing development of the VFS Corporate Strategy
Provide support and governance for VFS market Competitive Strategies
Lead development VFS Service Vertical Competitive Strategies
Manage and maintain VFS’ strategic planning calendar and activities
Conduct and communicate competitive and market intelligence
Manage cross business alignment of strategic development
Manage engagements with external consulting firms, as needed
Provide analysis for mergers and acquisitions activities
Assist with the development of the Strategy and Innovation Team’s operations
Lead the Governance for the Service Vertical Committee and Services Transformation Council
Travels occasionally both inside and outside Europe (20% or less)
Other duties and projects may be assigned
EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
BS/BA in Finance or related field is required. MBA preferred.
10+ years of experience
Prior strategy experience, financial services focus preferred
Prior experience with M&A highly preferred
Experience working across business units

Self-starter. Ability to lead with minimal supervision
Strength of conviction and ability to defend ideas
Strong quantitative and financial modeling skills
Excellent written communication skills
Innovative problem solving and strong analytical abilities
Solid research skills with the ability to present complex concepts and information in a clear and concise way
Well organized and able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
Team player with flexibility to handle a wide range of requests
Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English; additional languages a plus
