Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
MP Cab is a world class enabler of new product introductions within Scania global cab production. We act proactively to safeguard disturbance free introductions of new cab models and functionalities into serial production, following Scania PD-Process. We work in close cooperation with Design, Market and Purchase, and represent Production in global cross-functional forums. Technical Centre in Oskarshamn is located outside, but very close to the Scania factory. We have around 90 employees at Technical Center-Oskarshamn and report directly to Product Introductions Chassis and Cabs located at Scania Södertälje.
Tools and Fixtures Design in Oskarshamn is responsible for design, documentation, manufacturing, prototyping as well as CE-marking assurance of own tools & fixtures tailor-made to support Press, Body and Painting as well as Assembly and Logistics in Oskarshamn, Scania Latin America and Laxå Special Vehicles. We are also responsible for the overall tools documentation STD’s and to secure all CAD data is kept safe with us and stored correctly into Scania servers and Scania CAD System ENOVIA. We have a group of designers and workshop prototype specialists that hold core competence towards tools & fixtures design, prototyping and specialist support around Press-dies, BiW fixtures and grippers, lifting equipment, transport skids, special packing, as well as tailor-made assembly tools.
We are looking for a new group manager who is eager to work globally and cross-functionally, being an enabler of world class and agile tools & fixtures design and prototyping within Product Intro Cabs.
The manager main responsibilities are:
- To manage and coordinate his own group and the whole tools & fixtures design process, working with different cross-functional assignments from the Project Teams as well as from Oskarshamn, Scania Latin America and Laxå Production.
- To manage the right archiving and importing process to Scania ENOVIA of CAD models and drawing material regarding new production equipment as well as existing equipment adapted for our product introductions.
- To secure the CE-marking of own designed and manufactured tools at TC-Oskarshamn as well as to provide CE-marking support for purchased changes to existing equipment from Oskarshamn and Laxå Production.
- To define the requirements for CAD and archived tools in cooperation with Scania Design department responsible for Product Structure Coordination.
- To represent Technical Center-Oskarshamn in current Tools Design networks and CAD projects such as MBD and 3D-Experience.
- To be the Chapter responsible for CAD documentation in Scania Technical Guidelines for the procurement process of new production tools and equipment.
- To be the responsible for prototype workshop's operations and equipment as well as to promote a safe and healthy work environment.
- To be the owner of investments and scheduled maintenance, as well as the speaker partner of real estate issues in the prototype workshop.
The group consists today of around 8 skilled designers and 2 prototype and tools manufacturing technicians.
