Connected Services & Solutions is a fast evolving business area within Scania Sales and Marketing were we aim high to reach our vision and work close to our partners by developing new services for the transport-industry and also to digitalise the transport processes. We have three commercial areas:
a) Digital Transport Operator, developing and selling services available on the market today, with the aim of creating more sustainable business for the transport company by digitalising its main processes.
b) New Business Solutions, focusing on future business models and services for Scania
c) Scania One, Scania’s digital marketplace, a channel reaching directly to our customers that is to be launched soon
The three commercial areas are supported by two technical sections, Digital Tools and Enablement. Within Digital Tools we work extremely close with the commercial organisations at Connected Services & Solutions in a matrix-based way where each business area is consisting of all competences working with developing, implementing and operating services to reach customer impact are co-located. Each business area has full BizDevOps responsibility. The strive is to make each business area as autonomous as possible, while keeping alignment within the commercial area and Connected Services & Solutions as a whole. We work closely with the Enablement section, supporting us with expertise regarding for example user experience, data science and delivery engineering.
Digital Tools is divided into seven groups, all delivering functionality to the commercial areas:
The first four groups each have focus to digitalise the transport operator’s business and are divided based on these processes and intended recipient within the transport company:
Administration & Compliance – support the transport company regarding administration processes such as drive time, salaries, planning etc.
Operations Management – the core process of the transport company with planning and execution of transports
Vehicle and Equipment Performance – data availability and analysis of trucks, buses and engines as well as bodywork equipment.
Driver Evaluation – Tools for evaluating driver performance used by driver services
The remaining three groups, Solution Sales Tools, Solution Operations Tools and Customer Adaptations are supporting New Business Solutions as well as Scania as a whole with development and operation of tools aimed at supporting Scania in new types of business.
Assignment
Optimal vehicle performance is key for our main customers, the transport operators. The overall aim of vehicle and equipment performance is to optimise customers’ vehicle and equipment by providing tools that enable the transport company to became more efficient, profitable and sustainable. This is mainly done through subscription to the Scania Fleet Management Portal, in which we present data and insights on vehicles and engines. The group is also responsible for providing support to the customers to keep track of service planning and thus simplifying for customer as well as Scania workshop. The tools needed to support vehicle and equipment performance contain state-of-the art algorithms which we continuously develop.
As a manager you will manage three development teams – vehicle (trucks and buses) performance, engines and service planning. You will have a mix of tasks in terms of competence development, coaching of employees, supporting improvement work within team, and product guidance. Since we strive for autonomy within specific business area, you as a manager have an important task to make sure to work so that development work is coordinated and alignment between the different business areas, to avoid sub-optimisation. You are also expected to support the team in working closely with Enablement as well as other key stakeholders within Scania, such as Scania IT and E sector within R&D.
You will closely with the other managers within the section Digital Tools and within the business area Driver Evaluation as well. You report to the Director of Digital Tools and will be an important part of the management team.
Your profile
We are looking for a can-do mentality combined with an analytical mindset and structured way of working. An interest in the customer offering is extremely important.
