What you will be a part of
Avionics Systems develops and manufactures qualified electronics, mechanics and software for demanding applications in aircraft and helicopters. Many of these products are developed in collaboration with other parts of Saab or external partners. Most of our projects are carried out in an international environment and we supply products for two of the world’s largest aircraft manufacturers, Airbus and Boeing.
Common Engineering is responsible for engineering competences and resources in a variety of areas, Software, Electronics, Power and PLD, Test Equipment, Qualification and Verification, Team management, Systems Engineering, Mechanics, ILS and Configuration Management. Other areas of responsibility are the Avionics Systems Development Processes, Methods and Tools (PM&T) where we have demanding requirements of cost-efficient and competitive development of high quality, safety critical applications. Common Engineering is also responsible for the Centre of Excellence Computers, Video and Graphics and for the Avionics Systems Technology Planning.



Your role
As Manager for Video and Graphics Software within Common Engineering, your main tasks will be to manage competence development and resources within equipment and application software development and verification with the core competence areas video management and graphics generation. Process management, methods and tools for software development including adaptations for projects as well as to drive improvements, e.g. way-of-working and cost effectiveness will be within your responsibility. You will have close collaboration with the Manager for Video and Graphics Hardware, the Manager for Computer Software and the Avionics Product Areas among others.
The unit is formed of around 15 employees.
You will report to the Head of Common Engineering and be a member of the engineering management team.

Your skills and experience
Appropriate professional or postgraduate qualification in a technical discipline.
Strong business understanding and customer focus.
Understanding and ability to work in an international environment and matrix organization.
Skills to combine strategic thinking with operational actions.
Proven ability and interest in leading, developing and challenging the organization, management teams and employees.
Strong drive, perseverance and ability to generate energy.
