The mission of the Manufacturing Data & Analytics team is to transform the data ecosystem, empowering our colleagues with reliable data in alignment with Volvo Cars’ Data Vision. This vision focuses on using trusted data to drive innovation and informed decision-making.
To support this mission, the Manufacturing Data hub is managing data & analytical products in the 6 key areas: Maintenance, Logistics, Sustainability, Quality, Operations, Manufacturing Engineering. These areas collaborate to equip data and analytics teams’ organization-wide with the necessary resources to extract value from data, fostering a culture of collaboration and data excellence.
As our Data Strategy Lead for The Manufacturing Data and Analytics Hub you will own and develop the strategy for the cultural and organizational transformation, vital for realizing Volvo Cars’ data vision and fulfil D&A Manufacturing mission. Your strategic expertise will play a pivotal role in contributing to the overarching business evolution, shaping how we leverage data for a brighter automotive future!
What you’ll do
You will be responsible for delivering a step-change in the data culture at Volvo Cars through data literacy, data professional community development, process improvement, program and portfolio management, and back-office management of the D&A function. Collaborating with D&A Core, you’ll establish best practices for working across manufacturing business areas and plants, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals.
In addition to shaping the manufacturing data landscape, your role extends to the integration of plants within the hub and spoke structure. You will be inspiring and guiding individuals through the cultural change journey, ensuring our company is equipped with the essential skills and a robust cultural framework that enables us to harness the full potential of data to drive innovation.
Lastly, you will guide and coordinate a team of data culture & transformation specialists.
What you’ll bring
We believe that you have significant experience (8-10yrs +) in Data leadership and transformation experience. You also have extensive experience in handling data cultural change, including the rollout of data literacy programs and the implementation of new operating models. Data culture and transformation best practices are topics you have knowledge about as well as change leadership skills.
You are an inspirational leader that can set an agenda and are good at getting others to follow your lead, with a proven ability to influence people, be self-driven, and with the ability to challenge the status quo. You demonstrate exceptional communication skills, seamlessly navigating interactions with both data professionals and colleagues with varying levels of data knowledge.
