About the job
As a manufacturing engineer focusing on manufacturing equipment and engineering, you work closely with our production units, process development team, and global operations development to improve our production strategies and processes. Primarily, you develop and implement our standard machine and automation concepts in our production worldwide through intensive support to project leaders and engineers at our tool production units. With your expertise, you support the business in complex production questions. In addition, you're the one coordinating and supporting all tools production units in investments and implementing new technologies, especially in the area of Industry 4.0. You work independently with the units and suppliers globally in various projects, although the team supports and guides you whenever needed.
You also drive and improve our existing tool manufacturing processes and develop new ones. This includes applying new technology such as additive manufacturing, increasing our digital capabilities, or new innovations to be implemented in the future. Everything is done in close collaboration with our production units globally, R&D Process Development in Sandviken and our suppliers.
The role is located at our site in Gimo. The role involves about 20-40 travel days per year to other production units and different suppliers.
Profile
You’re an experienced and modern engineer with a manufacturing profile. You have solid experience from production and are familiar working with production equipment, both hands-on and theoretical. You have very good knowledge in CNC programming and our parametric way of working. Since the position is global, you communicate fluently in English and are intrigued by travelling to support our various production units around the world.
Your personality is what makes us better! Being data-oriented, curious, and analytical you make decisions based on facts, and suggest solid and well-thought-out solutions for our production units. You act as a pioneer and trendsetter in digital tools, and by having a true entrepreneurial spirit, you're always on the lookout for innovations to implement next. Your stakeholder management is on point – you have a well-developed rhetoric approach that helps you communicate convincingly and understandably, adapting the message to each specific target and connecting with people at all levels in various cultures internationally. Leading projects is something you do with ease and as a real problem solver, you encourage us to think outside the box!
We honestly believe that our diversities lead to a successful business environment, and we’re looking forward to meeting you. Meanwhile, if you want to know more about Sandvik Coromant, we recommend a visit on our website, LinkedIn or Facebook page.
