What’s in it for you?
Manufacturing Engineering is a unit within Volvo Cars that has full strategic and operational responsibility for the production and supply of Volvo Cars globally. We develop methods and techniques for equipment in the production, support and execute projects for the production units to meet quality, lead time, cost efficiency, safety/health/environment, flexibility and change over. The areas of activity are Volvo Cars plants.
Our new challenge is to develop and implement a manufacturing process for the battery packs in our future electric vehicles. The speed of development within this area is very high and we need more talents to join our team in our journey towards electrification. 
We are now looking for a commodity engineer, with a great passion for cars, to reinforce our manufacturing engineering battery process. 

What you’ll do.
As a Commodity Manufacturing Engineer, you will deliver lean, quality assured and a flexible process based on line fundamentals. You will be doing this by driving our manufacturing requirements in strong collaboration with R&D to reach excellent manufacturability to a good cost.
You will work in a global environment and representing manufacturing voice through cross functional collaborations with aligned prioritizations.

Above this you will also:
•    Develop and design our manufacturing process of battery packs
•    Prepare RFQ and be a part of the commissioning and validation process
•    Verify the product and process solutions both virtual and physical
•    Be the link between our manufacturing plants and the R&D unit
•    Drive our manufacturing requirements towards R&D to achieve flawless launch to a great cost
•    Perform Process FMEA to identify and secure all process risks
•    Create all the needed assembly instructions

Do you fit the profile?
We are looking for someone with a BCs or MSc within Mechanical/Automation area or has basic technical competence through years of practice. You have experience of develop manufacturing processes and creating RFQ´s. It is meritorious if you have experience with automated welding processes (such as laser or friction stir welding) and or automated glue applications.
As a person we think that you have a strong collaboration behavior and driving results comes natural for you.
To be a fit for this position we believe that you have at least around 3-4 years of work experience but most relevant for us is you and your personal fit for the team, department and our organisation. We believe you have a curious attitude and are not afraid of challenges since we are in the middle of a huge transformation in leading the future of electrification and safety.
