Northvolt has exciting job offers for Manufacturing Equipment Engineers to join our bold Battery Systems team in Stockholm.
In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in developing a new generation of battery system and building a large scale European battery factory. The Manufacturing Equipment Engineers will be experts in one or several defined process areas which includes deep knowledge in battery systems prototype/production process and equipment design, automation equipment development, equipment integrator management, equipment validation, equipment installation, prototype building and new product industrialization. You will play an important role to interface with equipment suppliers and to collaborate with Northvolt process and factory design teams to efficiently integrate the process, equipment, and factory.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Design, develop, deploy and validate automated manufacturing equipment
Development of automated work cells from initial concept to prototyping and mass production
Ownership of in-house machine designs
Ownership of the relationship with machine builders and system integrators
Responsible for functionality, stability, uptime of automated manufacturing equipment and lines
Identify, address, and resolve equipment and process concerns
Develop and review project planning documents such as project timelines, RFI/RFQs, FMEAs, Safety Risk Assessments, PM schedules, Requirements/Specifications, and Key Equipment Parameters

Skills & Requirements
Education/Experience
BSc or MSc degree in Engineering
1+ years of relevant work experience within new equipment development
Familiar with DOE and SPC
Experience with evolving products, processes, and equipment from prototype scales to production scale in a fast-growing environment
Special consideration given for experience(s) in:
Factory automation including PLCs, robots, AGVs, MES
Laser sources, optical setups, laser process monitoring equipment
Dispensing systems for adhesives, sealants, thermal interface materials
Production line sensors including profilometers, vision systems
Electrical or battery testing systems
Specific Skills/Abilities
Excellent English written and oral skills
Good negotiation and problem-solving skills
Has a can-do attitude and an entrepreneurial spirit
Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently
