We are proud to have the opportunity to help our client find people with the right knowledge and skill for the position as Manufacturing Engineer - Machining.
THE POSITION:
You will be an integral part of the Manufacturing Engineering organization located at Volvo Cars in Gothenburg, Torslanda. The team will be working hard pursuing the mission of providing lean processes to Volvos' manufacturing sites. You will work closely with the engineering teams in the early phases of high pressure die-casting process development and equipment commissioning to infuse PFMEA/DFMEA thinking along with developing efficient machining processes for the high pressure die-casted parts.
Responsibilities
Design cell layout, manufacturing equipment and fixtures (2D and 3D)Lead design and equipment integration between in-house tools and external suppliers' equipmentDesign manufacturing equipment and fixturesDevelop manufacturing processesDrive product design for manufacturability.Develop specifications for custom automation equipmentClosely collaborate with external equipment suppliers on custom automation equipment design.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
BS/MS Degree in Mechanical, Materials Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.Exceptional understanding of the interactions casting process and machining processExperience designing mechanical equipment, fixturing and tooling in 2D (AutoCad) and 3D (Catia or NX preferred)Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment integration
