Manufacturing Engineer- Surface treatment

Manufacturing Engineering (ME) Paint is a unit in VCME and has global lead in the function area of surface treatment meaning develop, implement and introduce new paint processes, equipment and process driven product development. ME Paint Commodity implement new products, processes and materials in a cross functional environment with team works.
As a Manufacturing Engineer Surface treatment you will lead the cross technical product and production manufacturing work, as well as represent manufacturing during prepare and implementation phase. This means to ensure the product and process feedback to Research & Development (R&D) in order to fulfil the "manufacturing attributes" (quality, man hours, cost efficiency, environment, flexibility and change over). You will represent Manufacturing Engineering (ME) as well as the plants towards respective subproject manager within ME and Product Development within responsible area.
Main responsibilities
* Create PII (Process and Inspection Instruction)
* Analyse and verify the manufacturing requirements during and after virtual engineering phase and physical builds series
* Participate and support analyses of problems in running production
* Assure flawless introduction of car programs into our plants
* Support other teams within our organisation and production units
* Continuously strive for commonality within Volvo Car Group plants
Required qualifications
* Technical competence at senior high school or university level
* Basic computer skills
* English in spoken and written
* Practical experience of the production process of Paint Shop is meritorious
Personal qualities
* Good team player
* Positive and pro-active attitude
* Strong ability for cross functional and multi cultural teamwork
* Ability to travel
