Join us as a Manufacturing Engineer Testing Expert and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in Västerås, Sweden.
Purpose of the Job
Support Routine Testing in daily execution to avoid disturbances, delays and quality problems. For prototype, pre-series, series and aftermarket production, initiate activities relevant to reduce disturbances and implement flow improvements. Drive performance improvement on quality, through-put time, productivity and cost of production.
Support Industrialisation activities like Design for Testing, and drive specification and ordering of test equipment on time for production needs. Continuously evaluate and lead implementation of testing methodologies. Responsible for testing equipment and test cell infrastructure.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Daily support of routine testing. Respond to problems (Andon) and perform Practical Problem Solving.
• Develop and improve routine testing productivity and through put time by flow optimization, balancing assembly and testing with respect to BT HSE-principles.
• Work preparation and Change management including baseline management – request change, create necessary production documentation, implement in production and follow-up of result after change in a structured way (pre-series + series).
• Plan and coordinate retrofit activities to ensure material, resource availability on site for repairs and updates. Update and maintain train configuration in systems.
• Support Industrialisation, pre-series production and Transfer of Productions with work preparation, Design for Testing, tooling & equipment etc.
• Lead and support risk analysis for changes in production lines.
• Implement changes in production line based on product lifecycle and changes in operations
• Lead or support smaller business improvement projects within Operations Västerås. This includes planning, cost control, coordination and/or execution of tasks.
Qualifications
Key requirements:
• ROQ Power supply & Propulsion Engineering understanding and relationship
• Production customer/site orientation
• Experience in relevant role and experience of flow-based production and lean manufacturing will be considered a plus
• Bachelor’s degree within Mechanical or Production Engineering. Good holistic understanding of internal processes will be a plus
