Northvolt is hiring a diverse team of technicians to support our testing department. We are looking for candidates that either have experience with testing of battery systems or have the right skills and are willing to learn. By joining us you will play an important part in the transformation to a carbon-free society.
You will join our awesome team of test engineers with multiple knowledge areas such as mechanical, electrical, chemical, etc. The main duties include building test rigs/fixtures and helping run tests, including installing sensors (such as thermocouples, thermistors, accelerometers, etc...) running data acquisition hardware, troubleshooting, operating test equipment and data analysis.
In this role, you will need to be very resourceful and able to work independently. You need to be a highly organized person, in order to work efficiently and effectively. Day-to-day Tasks for our Technicians:
Building electrical and mechanical equipment for our battery trials and tests, including electrical cabinets, test rigs and cable harnesses
Assisting in the preparation and execution of tests (electrical, mechanical, thermal, chemical, etc.)
Installing and troubleshooting sensors such as thermocouples, thermistors, accelerometers, strain gauges, etc...
Setting up and maintaining data acquisition equipment for system tests (electrical, mechanical, thermal, etc...)
Working at 3rd party locations, such as suppliers, customers or test facilities, to help set up and perform tests
Skills & Requirements
Skills and Requirements:
2+ years experience in electrical/mechanical prototyping, industrial manufacturing, or as a maintenance/industrial electrician
Reading and interpreting electrical schematics
Open to travel, sometimes at short notice, mostly between Västerås and Stockholm, but also to other test facilities in Sweden/Europe
High voltage training is a plus
Soft Skills:
Professional competency in English, both written and oral
Ability to work safely and independently under time pressure
Resourceful person with a strong initiative, with the ability to work safely and independently under time pressure
