What’s in it for you?
Senior Engineer, Core & Annual is a key role in the team belonging to the sub-unit Manufacturing Technology within the Global ME Final Assembly team. You will be working with an engaged and diverse team of engineers, Experts, Core ME, and Process teams that are Subject Matter Experts in their respective fields of responsibility.
The role gives a unique exposure to the product creation process at Volvo Cars as well as an opportunity to impact the global strategies and standards of a growing global industrial footprint in cross-functional process.
You will work in a rapidly changing environment where you will always need to understand status and at the same time look ahead for the best future and benchmark solutions in workshops or in advanced engineering studies both with internal and external stakeholders. What you’ll do
You will have the responsibility for innovation, develop best in class/benchmark solutions to create future process and product solutions for Electrical Control Systems components/processes, High Voltage system components/processes including Batteries & Batterie cell, as well as be a part of starting new car programs before the start of production. Your main work tasks will be leading global workshops with the target to define and find solutions. You need to develop strong interfaces and relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
As our next senior engineer, you will create strategies, Requirements, and standards for coming products and manufacturing engineering and plants.
Do you fit the profile?
You are curious, positive and have a strong drive and ability to engage a team and take ownership of different tasks. To succeed you are technically educated you have an MSc or BSc in Mechatronics, Electronics, Chemistry, or similar experience that we consider to be equivalent.
Your communication skills are excellent and you value collaboration and balancing of different stakeholders. We believe that you are a person that doesn’t always need instructions for how to develop future solutions for processes and product manufacturing. We also believe that you are passionate about electrification and cars because this will be included in your day-to-day work tasks. You are fluent in English, written and spoken.
Additionally, we find it meritorious if you have hands on work experience in Design for Manufacturing/Assembly, Lean principles, and Process design.
