We are looking for a Manufacturing Unit Manager to our Large Motors and Generators division in Västerås. In this role you will be leading our Operations with full accountability of running the day-to-day operations as well as creating and implementing plans to establish the factory of the future.
You will lead and coach the local organization to meet ambitious targets and improve manufacturing technology and competence in line with our strategy.
This position reports to Business Manager - E2E.
Your responsibilities
You will be fully responsible for the manufacturing of large motors and generators and be in charge of 260 co-workers with three line managers reporting to you. The department consists of production manager, production development and internal logistics & planning manager as well as an assistant and HSE responsible person.
The main task in this role will be to lead the co-workers towards common goals and ensure that we constantly improve internal processes and tools. This will be achieved by your engaging leadership style that inspires a safe, positive and efficient work environment.
You will ensure the right balance with taking ownership and proactive actions to balance cost and load circumstances.

Your background
Master's in Engineering or other academic degree in a relevant field
At least five years' experience from a managerial position within production
Given the nature of our business you need to understand and have an interest in electrical machines
Insights into Lean, machine safety and life cycle analyses are a benefit
It is an advantage if you have OHS training and knowledge of 5S, 4Q, SAP etc
Fluency in English and Swedish is mandatory
The ability to motivate and engage other people, and the skills required to make strategic decisions and run the daily operations
Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with a collaborative, solution-focused approach, and strong written and spoken communication skills
