Do you want help us to promote a healthy planet for future generations? We are now looking for a Marine Technical Director who will strengthen our Vessel Optimization team.
Main responsibilities
The Marine Technical Director will provide the Vessel Optimization Business Line with maritime integration technical knowledge & advice.
Main responsibilities:
- Marine expertise
o Supply technical and product support for the Sales Department
o Keeping up to date with regulations affecting our customers’ operational situation
o Supply Chain Technical Support
o Technical Documentation Support
- Sales & marketing
o Creating and reporting on opportunities for additional sales to the sales team
o Negotiate contracts for Business Line Vessel Optimization’s products.
o Aid in creating the sales and marketing strategy for Vessel Optimization
o Participate in conferences and industry meetings.
- Customer Success
o Support the Customer Success team with technical expertise.
o Customer training on Yara Marine’s products.
- Business Development
o Help funnelling customer expectations and requirements on Business Line Vessel Optimization's products to the product development team.
o Assess the customers’ needs and formulate new and potential product development ideas.
Background and skil· · ls
Higher degree within Marine Technical field.
o Having worked as a Marine Engineer Officer, Vessel Superintendent or Fleet Manager is an advantage.
· Relevant experience in business-to-business sales.
· Technical understanding of ship operations and management.
· Experience working with Class Society and Flag State requirements.
· Experience in working with or alongside shipowners/operators.
· A proven ability to work effectively and professionally across different cultural environments.
· Ability to communicate effectively at different levels within organizations.
· Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
Personal qualities
As a person, you are structured, self-driven and analytical and have strong communication skills and relevant experience to negotiate and conclude desired results.
You will be working closely with many other departments, so a strong collaborative approach is required. Additionally, you will have close dialogue with customers and therefore we also see that customer satisfaction motivates you.
