We are now hiring to one of the most interesting and influential job roles within Volvo Trucks Marketing. As our Marketing Communications Strategy and Planning Manager you will be at the center of our discussions, continuously following progress in the company’s total offer planning and how to steer the marketing agenda to best fit the business needs in the sales areas. You will be reporting to the Strategic Communications Director.

The Marketing department consists of 45 colleagues with the responsibility to deliver marketing communications, launch programs, premium customer experience and digital marketing development. We belong to the European Regional Value Chain within Volvo Trucks and act on behalf of the 5 sales areas Europe North & Central, Europe South & West, Europe Central East & East, International and China. We deliver to and interact directly with the 36 markets and additional private importers in this scope.


The team Strategic Communications


The team consist of three Strategic Communications Managers, each covering the communications journey of our prioritized areas being: Electromobility, Combustion engine business and Service market. Together with the new Marketing Communications Strategy and Planning Manager, the team will secure the red thread in our long-term communications support as well as effective and relevant message strategy throughout each campaign or launch. The team has high dedication to the task and ample of experience from the Volvo Trucks business and target groups.


Your mission


Your mission is to continuously keep track of the upcoming product and services introductions, analyze which new features, services or product launches will need marketing support, its main marketing messages and target group strategy. You will establish and maintain an overall marketing time plan that fits the current business situation. The time plan is established in collaboration with business owners at ERVC, the Strategic Communications team, PR and Sales Area representatives.
You will work closely together with product and services experts and our Market Analysis & Customer Insight manager for relevant input to the messaging and target group strategies.


Key responsibilities:
Together with key stakeholders keep track of the commercial total offering incl. new product and services introductions, the overall commercial strategy for new and used trucks as well as service market area.
Collect and overview the total offering’s commercial strengths and marketing potential.
Secure that the relevant target group insights as well as available competitor information is used in order to analyze and create most effective communication strategy and messaging.
Drive the overall marketing time plan.



Who are you?


We are looking for an analytical person with deep knowledge of the truck industry and Volvo Truck’s total offering. You will need to have an eye for effective marketing messaging and target group behavior. We believe you are structured and capable of interacting with several stakeholders to build your proposals. You are not afraid to speak your opinion, but yet respectful and humble to different perspectives. You can master an ever-changing business environment and enjoy staying on top of recent news.


Critical competences for the position:
A university degree in science / marketing or equivalent by experience.
Proven track record from working with the truck industry and the Volvo Truck total offering.
Networking and collaboration skills, a true team player.
Ability to perform in a challenging, fast-paced environment of frequent changes.
Strong communications and presentation skills.
Structured in your way of working.
Fully proficient in written and spoken English.
