HemoCue seeks a Market Intelligence Manager to strengthen our competitor, customer, and market understanding in support of both upstream/downstream marketing as well as business development activities. This highly visible role will be a key addition to the Business Development and Market Intelligence (BDMI) team, reporting to the Strategic Marketing Director as a part of the Global Marketing Department.
As our new Market Intelligence Manager you will drive the collection and sharing of qualitative and quantitative insights on all aspects of market, customer, and competitor intelligence. In close collaboration with the Global Product Management team you will prepare detailed analyses for key stakeholders in Hemocue including HemoCue’s senior leadership team. The market intelligence work will inform the annual strategic planning process, as well as ongoing commercial, new product development, and business development activities. In addition, you will be the primary owner of relationships with external data providers and help to develop and create a strong governance around collecting, analysing, and presenting customer, competitor and market intelligence insights. A key task is to establish a standard process for collecting and sharing competitor intelligence information within HemoCue.
Responsibilities
The position encompasses three main areas of responsibility:
Competitor and Market Intelligence
Gather, manage and present Competitor and Market Intelligence (CI/MI) for business decisions and strategy
Drive governance on Competitor and Market intelligence to optimize use and impact
Translate data into insights for both new product development and commercial activities, including developing market maps for strategy; tracking customer- and competitor trends; and other related activities
Voice of customer (VOC)
Provide guidance to teams on VOC methodology and challenge for high-quality conclusions
Own VOC process and implementation of related Danaher Business System tools
Market and Business Development
Evaluate potential new markets, segments, partnerships, and other business opportunities
Track pipeline and support due diligence for potential business development/mergers and acquisitions
Explore new business models together with Product Management teams (Marketing and Global Sales) to expand revenue potential, particularly in digital/connected devices and other value-added services
Personality
In this role, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders across the organization both globally and locally as you engage with customers, data agencies, and external experts. To succeed in the role, you must be able to lead by influence and interface with a broad range of stakeholders, including downstream and upstream marketing, sales, research and development, and senior leadership. This is a highly visible role requiring you to synthesize information from multiple sources and present data in an efficient and informing way. A proactive, forward-looking approach that brings a fresh perspective to existing thinking is highly valued.
You will also drive significant and continuous improvements to the strategic development process, deploying Danaher Business System tools and importing best practices from other Danaher Operating Companies into HemoCue. The ability to engage with commercial marketing teams and leverage existing resources throughout the organization is a critical success factor.
Qualifications
For the position as Market Intelligence Manager we are looking for a candidate who has 3+ years of market intelligence, business analysis, or equivalent experience (e.g. product management) – preferably within medical device, pharmaceutical, or related industries. Specific experience with market segmentation, competitive analysis, and/or related tool sets is required. Proficiency with market access or health economics principles is a plus. Other requirements include exceptional organizational skills and ability to structure data from a broad range of sources in a logical fashion, with a track record of communicating to multiple levels of an organization.
Apart from above you will need to speak and write fluent English, with additional language capability preferred. Proficiency with standard business applications (Microsoft Office) is expected, as is expertise with market data sources, databases, and analysis methods. Advanced power user (quantitative) skills with Excel or equivalent is highly desired.
