We want to be more! The research institute Swerim conducts needs-based industrial research and development concerning metals and their route from raw material to finished product. Swerim has 200 co-workers in two locations in Sweden - Luleå and Stockholm. Our vision is a fossil-free and circular industry.
Job Description: With the increasing prominence of energy shortages and environmental concerns, the utilization of renewable energy is gaining greater attention. In our EnVisA project, we aim to achieve better utilization of processing gas from steel industry as a renewable energy for power/heat generation with the assistance of AI technology.
We are seeking a highly motivated master student to join our team and contribute to the AI prediction and visualization work in the EnVisA project, as the master thesis project. In this project, you will be involved in researching and optimizing of our AI models for predicting the production and transportation of process gases for combined heat and power plant (CHP), and the enhancing of our prediction-visualization systems.
Qualifications:
* Education background in a relevant field (e,g., AI, Machine Learning, Computer Science).
* You are a master student in Sweden (Preferably in Luleå) and want to do our project work as your thesis work.
* Background of AI prediction modeling and visualization.
* It’s preferable that you have a background in Energy and steel making industrial.
* Proficiency in programming language of Python.
* Experience on visualization with Power-BI.
* Excellent problem-solving skills for research work.Project timeline
The project is intended for a master thesis (30hp). The start date is January 2024 or can be mutually decided through negotiations.

This project is intended to be performed at Swerim in Luleå. Swerim rewards the student with 50 000 SEK for an approved master thesis (30hp).
