Service Market Logistics (SML) is part of Group Trucks Operations. We have 3800 employees on more than 60 locations world-wide. Our job is to design, handle and optimize the supply chain for all Volvo Group brands and business areas.
Within our team Product Projects & Quality we prepare our organization for future Volvo product launches and secure new introductions of quality replaced Parts and Quality Campaigns. We have embarked on a journey to develop the two roles of Logistics Product Project Manager and QJ & Quality Campaign Coordinator. We face the challenge to meet the demands that our fast-changing industrial environment have. For this reason, we would like to combine our day-to-day industrial knowledge with exciting theoretical inputs from academia.


Suitable background
Master students in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Quality or Project Management as well as similar fields are welcome.


Description of thesis work
We expect our students to focus their magnifying glass on the future of our roles and the required competencies that we will need to develop.
Mapping our current competencies for the two roles, gathering information from within Volvo as well as outside our company’s boundaries and bridging the possible gaps.
Let’s map together where we are currently, where we need to get to meet future demands and how to get there.
